Dry Skin on Face
Dry skin, also known as a dry skin type, is typically caused by a deficiency of sebum, the skin’s natural oils, as well as slight structural differences in the skin. Dry skin on the face can feel tight, rough, and appear flaky. Compared to normal skin, dry skin does not retain moisture as effectively. The goal of skin care for dry skin is to provide both hydration and nourishing lipids to support the skin.
Dehydrated Skin
Dry, flaky skin on the face is a common sign of dry or dehydrated skin. Skin dryness on face causes can include a lack of natural oils, weather conditions, or overly harsh cleansing products. When the skin loses moisture, it may feel tight and begin to flake, particularly around the cheeks, nose, and forehead.
Skin Care Routine for Dry Skin
An effective skin care routine for dry skin should be built around products that support the skin barrier, bind moisture, and nourish the skin to keep it soft and balanced. Start with cleansing. Once the skin is gently cleansed, the foundation of skin care for dry skin is in place.
Cleansing
Laponie Nourishing Oil Cleanser – for dry skin and sensitive skin, suitable for makeup removal and facial cleansing.
Laponie Mild Milk Cleanser – for dry, sensitive, dehydrated skin, combination skin, and gentle facial cleansing.
Moisturising
After cleansing, skin care for dry skin continues with moisturising. Choose a toner, serum, cream, and/or facial oil. A proper skin care routine for dry skin requires both water-based hydration and lipid-rich ingredients to soften and protect the skin. A richer cream such as Rich Face Cream provides hydration and protection in one product.
